Storage Method of Steel Tube

Select suitable site and warehouse

(1) The site or warehouse under the custody of the party shall be kept away from factories or mines that produce harmful gases or dust in a clean and well drained place.Weeds and all debris should be removed from the site to keep the pipe clean.

(2) No aggressive materials such as acid, alkali, salt, cement, etc. shall be stacked together in the warehouse.Different types of steel pipes should be stacked separately to prevent confusion and contact corrosion.

(3) Large-sized steel, rails, humble steel plates, large-diameter steel pipes, forgings, etc. can be stacked in the open air;

(4) Small and medium-sized steel, wire rods, reinforcing bars, medium-diameter steel pipes, steel wires and wire ropes may be stored in well-ventilated material shed, but they must be crowned with underlying pads;

(5) Small-sized steel pipes, thin steel plates, steel strips, silicon steel sheets, small-diameter or thin-walled steel pipes, various cold-rolled and cold-drawn steel pipes, as well as expensive and corrosive metal products, can be stored in the warehouse;

(6) Warehouses should be selected according to geographic conditions, generally using general closed warehouses, that is, warehouses with fencing walls on the roof, tight doors and windows, and ventilation devices;

(7) Warehouses should be ventilated on sunny days and damp-proof on rainy days, so as to maintain a suitable storage environment.

Reasonable stacking and placing first

(1) The principle of stacking requires that the materials of different kinds should be stacked separately to prevent confusion and mutual corrosion under stable and safe conditions.

(2) It is forbidden to store articles near the stack that corrode the steel pipe;

(3) The stacking bottom should be padded high, firm and flat to prevent dampness or deformation of materials;

(4) The same materials are stacked separately according to their warehousing order to facilitate the implementation of the principle of first-in-advance;

(5) The profiled steel stacked in the open air must have wooden pads or stones underneath it, and the stacking surface must be slightly sloped to facilitate drainage, and attention should be paid to the straightening of the material so as to prevent bending and deformation;

(6) Stacking height, manual operation not exceeding 1.2m, mechanical operation not exceeding 1.5m, and stacking width not exceeding 2.5m;

(7) There should be a certain passageway between the stacking and the stacking. The checking passage is usually O.5m, and the entry-exit passageway is generally 1.5-2.Om depending on the size of the material and the transport machinery.

(8) The stacking pad is high, if the warehouse is a sunny cement floor, the pad is 0.1M high;If it is mud, it should be padded with 0.2-0.5m height.If it is an open-air site, the cement floor pads are O.3-O.5 m tall, and the sand pads are 0.5-O.7m 9 tall) Angle and channel steel should be laid down in the open air, i.e. with the mouth down, I-shaped steel should be placed upright, and the I-channel surface of the steel tube should not be facing up to avoid rust build-up in water.

Packaging and protective layers of protective materials

Antiseptic or other plating and packaging applied before the steel plant leaves the factory is an important measure to prevent material from rusting. Attention should be paid to the protection during transportation, loading and unloading, it cannot be damaged, and the storage period of the material can be extended.

Keep warehouse clean and strengthen material maintenance

(1) Material should be protected from rain or impurities before storage. Material that has been rained or dirty should be wiped in different ways according to its nature, such as steel brush with high hardness, cloth with low hardness, cotton, etc.

(2) Check materials regularly after they are put into storage. If there is rust, remove the rust layer;

(3) It is not necessary to apply oil after the surface of steel pipes is cleaned, but for high-quality steel, alloy sheet, thin-walled pipe, alloy steel pipes, etc., after rust removal, the inside and outside surfaces of the pipes need to be coated with anti-rust oil before being stored.

(4) For steel pipes with serious rust, it is not suitable for long-term storage after rust removal and should be used as soon as possible.
